Nearly half get a perfect rating, or zero deductions, while only a handful fail with scores under 70. Our database currently includes inspections for Multnomah and Clackamas counties. It is updated monthly. About the numbers Inspectors check Multnomah and Clackamas counties’ roughly 5,500 restaurants, food carts and specialty food services every six months for problems that could make people sick. They note any violations of state law on proper storage, processing, cooking, cooling and reheating of food. For the highest priority items, a restaurant’s inspection score will drop 3 to 5 points per violation. County inspectors don’t give numeric scores to food carts, but they do note violations that would drop a cart below 100 if it operated as a full-scale restaurant. Our database calculates what each cart’s score would be, then sorts carts and restaurants both using restaurant standards. Click on any cart’s latest inspection to see detailed point deductions. A facility with violations has 14 days to fix the problem. In the meantime, the establishment has to put in place a safe alternative for handling food. Inspectors return for a second inspection, and facilities with an initial inspection score of under 70 get rescored. Click on a restaurant to see its follow-up results.
